Silence may be
golden; but in this case, its white--a white American Bulldog mix named
Abel. Only about two years old, Abel "hears" through
vibration and hand signals. Yes, he is deaf. And never was there
a sweeter, more gentle dog than this one. He
smiles, closes his eyes and snorts when his chest is rubbed (no, that's not a
growl--just the groan of pleasure!), and he'll stand still forever if you'll
stroke his back. The small scars he wears from having to fight for
his food in his previous home are beginning to hair over. He's a little
mischievous--likes to carry a cup around and dump it over if it holds
kibble. He is beautiful--inside and out. Abel's new owner
will have to be someone special--someone who remembers Abel can't be verbally
summoned to dinner, can't be called back from the edge of the road, doesn't
hear you unless he sees you, startles at the vibration of a loud sound, and
needs lots of TLC to maintain his self-confidence. A fenced yard is
a definite requirement for his new home. Abel has been
neutered and has had rabies and 7in1 vaccines. The original owner
stated that he had been heartworm tested (negative), and he’s been on Heartguard since. He is not housebroken, is good
with kids (not sure about toddler age) and likes other dogs (hasn’t been
cat-tested). He is typically submissive and shows no aggression. Won’t you open
your heart and give this gentle boy a caring home? Your life will be
immensely enriched by his love. |
