Annie

Update 9/22/11

Breed:  Boxer {mix}

Age/Sex:  2 yrs/Female

Hello! We need help in Alabama. One of our foster parents saved a deaf dog on the day she was to be PTS at our local shelter. She has been spayed, is HW-, and is UTD on shots. We have no experience with deaf dogs and no special needs contacts to help us place her. We do very few frontline adoptions. Our mission is to pull and transport to other rescues. We are not comfortable screening applicants for such a special dog. We would greatly appreciate any assistance you could give us with this special girl.

Here is what her foster mom has to say about her:

 Meet Annie, she is a 2 year old boxer mix. She is a sweet girl who needs some special attention because she is deaf. Even though I have no experience with a deaf dog I could not leave her in the shelter to be PTS, so I saved her. She weighs about 40 lbs, is UTD on her shots, HW-, and was recently spayed. She gets along with other dogs, not sure about cats, I have a 13 and 15 year old that she is good with. She does get startled when the other dogs get up in her face when she's sleeping, she growls and shows her teeth to them so I would not recommended a home with small children. Annie loves to play tug of war, running in the yard with her foster brothers and sister, and playing in water. She is crate trained and we are working on house training. She sleeps in the bed with us and will not bother with anything during the night. She is really a joy and would make a family, who has the knowledge to train her, a wonderful pet.

Update:  9/22/11

Hello, I am Annie's foster mom, she is doing great. But she did learn how to jump a 4ft fence. She is house trained now and does great with other dogs.

Annie is looking for a Rescue or Adoption
