English
Bulldog, "Boo", 1 1/2 years old, neutered, utd
on all shots and heartworm negative. I have had since he was 8 weeks and
had his hearing checked when he was 12 weeks. He is totally deaf. I
spent everyday training him for a year. I still make sure I sign to him
and occasionally return to using food reward to reinforce his
training. He knows many signs and gestures as well as facial
expressions and head nods. He is happy-go-lucky. Except when there are
other family dogs. He began becoming aggressive toward our hearing dogs
following a palate surgery which was very painful for him and made him feel
very dependent on his "mommy". He needs a home where he can
be the only dog. He is actually a very gentle dog but will not
share his Mommy and is food/fear aggressive toward other dogs in the
home. He likes to play with dogs that are not his housemates. He
is a good lap dog. Soft and squishy. When feeling safe he does
whatever you want with a smile on his little face. If you
want a dog already "trained" who wants to stay right beside you
even when outside, who does not bark, and does not chase things (except bugs
and shadows) and wants to cuddle, then Boo is the right dog for you. He
knows sit, stay, down, come, come right here, back up, turn around, go sit
over there, jump up here, go crate, settle down and go night night, no, stop, let's play, go for a drive, no you are
not going this time...he even watches you talk and reads your facial
expressions. He knows to watch for signs. He weighs 50
pounds - he cannot go out in the heat for long - but he loves playing in
his baby pool, wading in the creek and in the ocean. I will work with
you on learning his "signs". We
live in Talking Rock Georgia and sometimes Fernandina Beach FL. |
