Brinley~ CGC
certified. Richmond, VA PLEASE consider
adopting our very special Brinley. He is such a darling, and we just
can't figure out why he's being over-looked! UPDATE: on
4/27, Brinley passed his CGC test! We are SO
proud of him and the handlers for their dedicated training! Brinley arrived on 1/12/11 after spending months at the shelter with no
interest. He's 46 lb. and 1 year old, and has the most adorable, cuddly
personality! So friendly with people and other dogs, and he loves to
lean into your lap for loving. He enjoys playing with toys and even
likes to play tug with other dogs. Brinley looks
like he has red heeler in him, and he displays some herding instincts. Because Brinley is deaf, he should go to a home with a safely
fenced-in yard. He's a bright boy and has learned hand signals for sit,
down, stay, relax, touch, kennel, come, stop, give, leave it, cross your
paws, and a gesture that means "good job!" His loose leash
walking is very nice now. At a recent vet visit, despite being very
nervous, he was still able to respond to basic cues. Brinley whines initially during car rides, but does not get
sick. After a while on a longer trip, he eventually settled down.
He tends to display some nervous energy (some excitement and whining),
especially when experiencing something new. Once he has a chance to
meet a new dog or person, or check out something new, he settles
nicely. His handlers also did an amazing job desensitizing him to all
sorts of body handling, which he now accepts with relish. Brinley is receiving his obedience training at a Virginia
