Giving is a 1 year old spayed Double Dapple Dachshund/Terrier
mix who needs a home to call her own. She was
rescued from a shelter when only a few days old and taken into foster care.
While with her first foster mom, it was identified that Giving had
special needs that would require someone with a special heart to care for
her. At eight weeks old, she moved in with her current foster mom and
fur-siblings but no rescue has ever stepped forward to take this girl as
their own. During the last few months, it has been determined that
Giving is not as disabled as it originally seemed. Her foster
mom feels that Giving will blossom and strive if she is given
then chance to show how "non-disabled" she really is.

It was originally thought that Giving was completely deaf and
blind and would be "special needs" for her life. This thankfully
is not the case. She does have the ability to see but is
deaf. She has learned to take cues from other dogs when it is time to
come inside from playing. As you can see in her pictures, she loves to play
in the dirt! When the other fur kids hear the backdoor open, they come
running. Giving sees them running to the backdoor and joins in the fun
(which of course ends in a treat!). If for some reason she misses their
cue, she will finish her sniffing and then lift her head to find a fur kid
in the back yard. When one is not found, she knows it's time to come to the
backdoor to come in.

Giving weighs between 15 to 20 pounds. She is up to date on all of
her shots, heartworm negative, spayed, and is crate
trained. Giving enjoys her crate since this is where she is fed and
receives a treat every time she goes in. She also makes up her own
games in her crate at night when it's time for bed. She gets along well
with other dogs and kids. She likes cats but doesn't understand why they
don't want to play with her all the time. Giving is a very loving girl that
just wants to be with her people, but is fine to be on her own and play
with her toys. She likes to sit with her people at night while watching TV.
It's time for this "no-so-special" needs girl to have her moment
in the sun and live the life she was always meant to have. Can you please
help her find her find a rescue and a fur-ever home?
