This is Hercules.
He was found on I-40 in Memphis late at night about two years ago. Skinny and
bitten, not neutered, chew bites through his ears, and infections throughout
his skin and paws, he was an unsightly dog. Immediately
he was taken in by a Good Samaritan named Lisa to the vet the next day. He
had to get on 7 pills, twice a day, for almost a month. Lisa also got him
neutered and on flea and tick medicine. She fostered him, against her
apartment contract, for 9 months until she thought she found a forever home
for him. Unfortunately, the current guardian of Herky, called Lisa on an extremely short notice,
yesterday, saying that he has to get rid of Herky
by today-10-4-2011 due to barking complaints. Lisa called
a few rescue groups and the Memphis Humane Society with no luck. Any help is appreciated;
money will be given to a foster. Herky is special needs as he is deaf. He is believed to be
used in fighting as a bait dog by his bite marks and his submissiveness Herky is about 3-4 years old. He loves other dogs, loves
to cuddle, and loves to play with toys--especially the squeaky kind. Herky also loves to chase cats, but he just wants to play.
Herky has no mean bone in his body. |
