Neptune

Urgent: 7/18/11

Breed:  Aussie

Age/Sex:  Young/Male

I have a small rescue near Chattanooga, TN, and I pulled a deaf/mostly blind Aussie from a high kill shelter.  He has been in several foster homes and is in need of another.

The first home was great with him, but he became a little more than they could handle. The second home did a wonderful job with him; however, she works full time, and is going back to school in August, so he is coming back to my rescue next weekend (July 23rd)

I live in an efficiency apartment connected to the kennel with 6 dogs inside.  In addition, I work full time outside of the rescue and I am gone 10-12 hrs per day.  I don’t have the right environment for him.

Comments from his current foster home:

Neptune is about a year old, deaf, and  (mostly) blind dog, but he does have limited vision in his left eye.  He gets around his foster home quite easily, only occasionally bumping into something or someone.  He can manipulate stairs very well.

He loves going for walks, and enjoys playing with other dogs.  He is a little on the skinny side, but he loves food, and is extremely gentle when taking a treat.  Neptune is very calm, and is good in the car, but he does need some practice getting in and out.

He is crate trained, is up to date with all vaccines, and is neutered.   Neptune is calm and sweet, and will make someone a constant companion.
