Parkway the poor deaf boy in Iowa? He
came into the shelter with his mom and spent about three weeks there. They were rescued by a private individual
because Parkway was going to be euthanized due to his deafness. See below. CT
(private rescue because my heartstrings were bent by these two:) I
rescued "Parkway" (one year old neutered male Aussie x German Short
Hair Pointer) and his mom 3 year old purebred blue merle Aussie "Callie"from a shelter in IA. Kim Kleppel
(transport goddess) has been transporting Aussies for me for many years and
alerted me to these 2 in need. I took them privately because no rescue I have
fostered for would take them both and the shelter was going to euthanize
Parkway because he is deaf. I have had
them about a month now and they are both lovely dogs. Callie, Parkway’s mom has been
adopted. 10/17/11 I will ask people to fill out an
application, sign an agreement and have a return to me policy. Parkway is a neutered male one year old Aussie and German
Short Hair Pointer cross. He is a super love bug and despite his size of
about 75 pounds, would love to be your lap dog! He gets along very well with
other dogs and can be a calming influence on easily excitable dogs. Parkway
is housetrained, crate trained, rides in the car and
loves to go for walks with his foster dog siblings. If the cat goes by, he
ignores her and is ever watchful for a new person to meet. He just loves
attention! Parkway is training well on hand signals for sit, watch me, stay, down
and quiet. He walks very well on leash, but may pull ahead if excited. Park
would love a fenced yard or someone to jog with him-his energy level is
medium-he needs about a half hour walk in both the morning and afternoon and
a few minutes outside before going to sleep at night. He is a big guy, so no
children under 12 . Parkway is also deaf, but that
just does not bother him. He is just a wonderful dog looking for the right
home to bring him to his full potential. Parkway is up to date on his
vaccinations, neutered and Heartworm negative. He has been on heartworm and
flea/tick prevention. If
