Poppy was spotted
by two of our volunteers as a puppy in midwinter,
following a ...man walking near a busy road.
He said she didn't belong
to him, so our volunteers took her to safety, bringing her home before any
harm came to her.
She is a sweet girl who is a little scared
of new people and dogs but warms
up quickly when introduced properly.
We believe that Poppy may be deaf as
she does not respond to us when we talk to her as hearing dogs do, a trait
that
is common in white dogs. Although this does make training a little more of a
challenge.
Poppy is very
smart and eager to please. With a little love and patience, Poppy
should learn her manners and how to be part of a family without problem.
Poppy
is very sweet tempered and loves to play tug and chew on her toys. Poppy is
anxious
to find her very own family to love
and care for her like she deserves! Poppy weighs
about 40 pounds. Birth date 12/18/10
Poppy is one of the dogs under threat from the local pound. We need to find
foster
homes for them or they will be seized :(
If you can foster
call or text Marilyn at 313.645.4399. Ideal fosters will be able to
bring them to Saturday adoption events. :)
