Cane is my deaf
foster dog that I couldn't love more. He has come such a long way since his
rescue from death at animal control 6 months ago. Due to a family matter, I
am leaving Savannah and moving to Atlanta in 3 weeks. In this transition, I will have my 2 dogs
and will not be able to take Cane as much as I would love to.
He is with Coastal Pet Rescue and I have been informed that they have no
other foster homes open, so I am in a bit of a pickle.
I of course would love for him to be adopted so that I can pass on all his
training tips etc. and know that he is in a good home But I am now just
looking for a good home to adopt or foster where he will be loved, played
with and cared for. He needs a secure fenced back yard. He is fully deaf and
is best reprimanded by a tap on the head, shaking your head and making a NO
face. I would say has been hit before as he cowers at things above his head.
And if you correct him with more than a tap, he levels to the ground.
He has never showed any aggression or even growling.
He is the sweetest boy and when I lay on the floor he will come over all
wiggles and lay across me. He makes me laugh everyday.
He does great with children over 5 or 6 yrs. Not smaller just due to his size
and strength, not for any other reason than that. He plays well with other
dogs. I believe he would LOVE teenage boys as he has played with the kids in
the neighborhood and even jumped on the trampoline. He is only 2 so he is
still shedding some of that puppy energy. He has moments of extreme excitement
and then mellows out. His worst trait is that he still needs corrections when
walking as he is very strong and pulls some.
Here is his bio. Please forward on to anyone who may be interested in
adopting or can help foster.
