My name is Kelley Strickland and I work at Metro Animal Shelter in Tuscaloosa, AL.  We have an 11 mo old Pit mix that is deaf.  He was turned in by his owners b/c they couldn't keep him anymore.  He lived with other dogs, which they turned in also.  His name was Cracker.  We have renamed him Ace.  He is great with other dogs, both male and female.  He is also heartworm negative.  He will be a year old on Oct 13th. 
 
Update: 10/4/10   Ace was suppose to go to a rescue in NY, but after researching I found
that they were bogus. Ace is a great dog, very friendly and outgoing, good with other dogs.  He
is also smart!   He doesn't seem to know any hand signals, but seems to learn fast.
