Flash
Pet ID: 6735

Breed:  Australian Shepherd

Age/Sex: Young/Male

Flash is a FABULOUS, silky, fluffy, all white Australian Shepard that we believe is an albino; and he has the most startlingly beautiful light blue eyes. Flash appears to be completely deaf, however, acuity of both his sense of sight and smell seem to be dialed-up a notch or two to compensate. Flash is really friendly and very affectionate, (in his 2nd photo he's showing a big smile to the volunteer scratching his back). Flash orientates himself well with people and out-of-doors; and additionally, appears to be housetrained. We usually are not able to get much in the way of background information on the animals we receive, but, we were fortunate in Flash's case. One of the volunteers knew his vet, and did a little "vetting"- and we now know Flash to be neutered and current on rabies and parvo vaccinations until August 2010. The albinism and deafness that are the traits that make Flash a special needs dog are likely the result of inbreeding, and the term used frequently in association with this condition is "Lethal White".

Flash is up-to-date with routine shots and is neutered
