All too often the staff and
volunteers at the Baldwin Park shelter encounter the most heartless people in the world at the
intake window.- and we are thankful that we don't
carry weapons, because we would probably all be in jail if we acted on our
true emotions. Such is the case with Princess, a fourteen year old female
purebred Dalmatian who was turned in by her former owners on June 12th
shortly after giving birth to another litter. The scumbags who turned her in
wanted to milk the last litter out of this wonderfully behaved and tired girl
so they could sell the puppies. Princess is still lactating, and
understandably depressed at being abandoned. Weighing fifty pounds, she may
be deaf, but she walks well on the leash and seems quite affectionate. This poor
unfortunate senior citizen should not die in the shelter - and we're hoping
someone out there has a heart and will allow her to spend her final days in a
loving environment.
